
Two and a half months after the game was first scheduled for release, development on ShellShock: Nam '67 is finally complete. Eidos announced today that the game has achieved gold status and has been sent to the factory, and it's on track for its September 14 ship date.

Criticism has followed, because Eidos seems to be revelling in the most base aspects of the war with their promotional emails:
. . . they seem to stress the lowest common denominators of the game turning it into something more exploitative than thought-provoking.
Emails with headings like “You Always Remember Your First Kill” or “The Base Camp” talk about the joys of killing and the wonders of meeting a “mama san” and then provides links to screen shots of the action.
