A race track and lottery will be added to the game for free next month, making Lineage II one of the first MMOs to have a formal in-game gambling system.
The race track will allow players to bet on monsters who will run an eigh-lane track every 30 minutes during the game's day. Twenty minutes before a race, players will be able to review the monsters' names, their racing histories and track conditions and then purchase a ticket.
Players can bet who they think will win or which two they think will be in first and second, known as a quinnella bet in the real world.
Winners will be paid out in adena. The amount paid out will be based on the number of tickets sold and the pay-out rate.
The in-game lottery will run several times a week in real-time. Players will have to pick five numbers and if they match as few as two they will win something.
