THQ yesterday announced that their shooter based on The Punisher will include the voice of actor Thomas Jane, who played the lead role in the movie.
The title, due for release in Jan 2005 will also be available on the PC (XBox & Playstation 2 versions were initially announced).
The company announced a PC version is being developed in tandem with the console products and is scheduled to launch simultaneously. The Punisher, developed by THQ's internal developer Volition Inc®, will feature Marvel's darkest antihero Frank Castle as he takes on his greatest enemies from a history that spans over 30 years.
The movie, released last April is an adaptation of the Marvel Comics series, and was rated R for "Pervasive Brutal Violence"It was not widely acclaimed (28% aggregate total on Rotten Tomatoes), but the original comics were a firm favourite and those are what the new game will be based on.
