A biopic detailing the creation of id Software has been announced in Variety magazine.Showtime will partner with Naren Shankar, the executive producer of CSI to adapt a screenplay from the 2003 book Masters of Doom by David Kushner; the highly acclaimed book focuses on the relationship between two of id's founders, John Carmack and John Romero:
"It's such a classic American rags-to-riches story. I really suck at the game, but the story of these two twentysomething guys is pretty incredible," Shankar said. "In the spate of a few years, their idea and technology launched an entire industry based around these first-person shooter games."
