X360 Boycott Called For After MS Agrees to Censor Blogs - 20.6.05

Game Politics.com has urged its readers to boycott the Xbox 360 when it's released in November, after it was learned that Microsoft will abide by the Chinese government's request that censorship be applied to MSN Spaces China.

The Chinese govt. have asked the U.S. software giant to block words such as "freedom", "democracy", "Taiwan independence", "demonstration" and "human rights" in the online blogs, and the company have agreed, arguing that the company must abide by the laws of the countries it operates in.

Game Politics view this as nothing more than shameless profiteering on Microsoft's part and called on Xbox gamers to register their disapproval this November:

How can gamers express their displeasure with Microsoft's disgusting stance?

There is only one way to get the attention of a corporation that has proven conclusively that it values money far more than liberty.

Gamers, vote for freedom with your wallet.

Boycott the Xbox 360 when it launches in November.
