Sony Online Entertainment have shut down Winter's Roar, an EverQuest emulator that had been running for almost three years.
Winter's Roar's was free to play by anyone who owned a copy of EverQuest, and had a community of about 350 players before SOE threatened the game's hosting company with legal action:
Winter's Roar is down indefinitely -- we have been served a Cease and Desist by Sony (through the completely unaffiliated owner of the domain, none the less...). There will be a redirect to the status of the legal process and our future plans here shortly.
