Japanese Xbox 360 Unveiling "On The Scale Of E3" - 5.7.05

XBox 360The rumoured major Xbox 360 event in Japan this month has been announced, and Xbox Japan boss Yoshihiro Maruyama has revealed the show will be a "product unveiling on the scale of E3."

Named the Xbox Summit 2005, it will take place on the 25th of July and the Japanese Xbox 360 lineup is expected to be officially unveiled. Among the titles may be "some major surprises", Microsoft have hinted in previous interviews with the Japanese press. The final details on the Asian launch of the 360 are also expected to be announced at the event.

Microsoft have aimed their big guns at the Japanese market this time around; in that market the original Xbox plays third fiddle behind the dominant Playstation 2 and Nintendo GameCube, but the U.S. software giant has since declared it intends to win the next-gen console race in Japan.
