Just when you thought physics in games was at a crossroads, Swedish middleware developer Meqon recently announced it has released version 1.5 of its physics engine system. The company has made available a downloadable version of the new SDK (software development kit) with a full evaluation license.
The company, which already has development deals with companies including Atari, Illusion Softworks and, perhaps most notably, 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever, claims to have integrated a large number of advances into v1.5 of the SDK.
Meqon say they have been working for 18 months, and that the new version of their popular physics engine is totally optimized for
fast, flexible and efficient game development.
