MTV has announced its nominees for the coveted 'Best Videogame Soundtrack' award for the upcoming Video Music Awards.The nominees are: Konami's Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 2005 and Def Jam: Fight for New York. With a little less prestige, Rockstar Games' Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition and Activision's Tony Hawk's Underground 2 are registered contenders for the gong.
It was only last year that MTV entered the Video Game category into their awards event and 2004 saw Tony Hawk's Underground run away with 1st prize from rival nominees Madden NFL 2004, SSX 3, True Crime: Streets of LA and Need for Speed Underground.
The MTV Video Music Awards, which is being hosted by music mogul and artist P Diddy, will be recorded on August 28th, with nominations for the videogame category running to a public online vote on the official website.
