Some amusing news coming in that suggests Microsoft has not been able to find room for basic audio and video cables inside the box that the Xbox 360 will ship with. At the recent Xbox summit, Microsoft showed off what exactly will be shipping with the Xbox 360; wireless controller, ethernet cable and the such, but no audio or video cables?Many sites are reporting on this rumour, although it hardly seems likely to be the true, rather a misinterpretation of some kind.
1up.com has contacted Microsoft about the issue although they have declined to comment just yet.
When you purchase a new console you expect the manufacturer to provide everything necessary to have it up and running. The included cables and such might not be the best, but you can always pick up that S-Video cable later. If Microsoft's to be believed, though, their upcoming Xbox 360 won't even include basic audio/visual cables.
