Videogameslife.com is reporting that a silver version of the Sony PSP might be planned for the near future. Apparently the silver PSP appeared on some recent Japanese trade price listings, though it didn't include a release date or price:No price or date has been mentioned and Sony has yet to officially announce anything, although reading between the lines, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the Japanese hardware giant is planning such an action – with the DS now boasting a healthy lead over the PSP in Japan, releasing a special edition PSP could be just the ticket to get the machine back on track, given the past successes of special edition consoles such as the Dreamcast and PS2 over there.
And the West? At present, your guess is as good as ours – although with the success of the silver PS2 in Europe especially, it’s a distinct possibility somewhere down the line.
