Gamespot are reporting that Marvellous Interactive are 85% of the way to completing an updated Space Invaders for the Sony PSP.Entitled Space Invaders: Galaxy Beat, the game will include many modern enhancements from the original arcade classic, including 3D graphics, a first-person view and an updated look for the invaders.
In addition to the main game, Galaxy Beat will feature a 4-player wireless mode, and a clever matchup mode that will let two players play against each other with one PSP - each player will hold one end of the handheld turned 90 degrees as they battle each against each other.
Also included will be a mode to play the original Space Invaders, replete with black and white graphics.
