I just love sitting on the fence and watching companies duke it out, especially when it's Kutaragi Vs Gates (Kutaragi sure kicked Bill's Gluteus into the cosmos). This time AMD has went as far as to take out an advertisement challenging Intel to a dual-core, dual. Intel CEO said it spoiled his cup of coffee when he saw the ad.The advert, in broadsheet the San Francisco Chronicle flat-out challenges Intel to match it in dual-core performance. I wonder if AMD has something up their sleeve, the ad seems pretty cocky.
Paul Otellini, CEO of Intel has purportedly turned down AMD's challenge to a dual-core showdown (what a wuss). Just when I thought we were going to see an interesting bout. Hell, they owe us that much with the price-tags on these dual-core processors.
Oh well, we'll just have to wait until some more scandal comes 'round before we can see AMD and Intel in the coveted 'bout to overclock the other CEO out'.
We've often noted the resemblance of both Intel and AMD to the Tweedledee and Tweedledum characters in Alice through the Looking Glass. These brave warriors were forced to live a sort of mock Groundhog Day existence but no blood ever got shed because both of them were basically frightened.
