Financial advising firm Piper Jaffray has released a report offering predictions on various aspects of the November launch of the Xbox 360.The firm said the November launch is on track for the U.S. and Europe, while saying the console will likely launch a couple of weeks later in Japan.
They also gave an estimate on how many units will ship to the various territories: 1 million in the U.S, 400,000 in Europe and 200,000 shipping in Japan by the end of the year.
Interestingly, Piper Jaffray also expect that two versions of the Xbox 360 will retail, one at $299, with the other at around $399.
The more expensive model would include extra hardware like hard-drive and second controller:
Microsoft also would not provide specific pricing information about the Xbox 360, but Piper Jaffray expects Microsoft will make one unit available at $299, and another unit near $399, with the more expensive unit including "additional hardware components (e.g., hard-drive option, extra controller, memory option) that core users will likely buy anyway."
