Dell appear to be stepping on the gaming pedal lately, in news that they are incorporating Nvidia's SLI technology into their new gaming rigs. The new XPS 600, which will be debuting in the next few weeks, is set to feature two PCI-Express x16 slots, each of which will be loaded with Nvidia's very latest GeForce 7800 GTX graphics card.ATI also have a double-barrel solution in the form of 'Crossfire' which has recently been delayed until September, but which is basically the same deal as SLI, two cards being better than one. It also equates to financial woes for anyone looking to go down that avenue.
Starting at $3,099 with a Pentium 4 single core processor, Dell's XPS 600 will automatically ship with Windows XP Home and come with a 160GB hard drive, dual 16X DVD-ROM and 48X CD-RW drives and 512MB of advanced computer memory.
Dell is also offering a combination of the two Nvidia cards with an Intel Extreme Edition 8xx series dual-core processor (two computer brains on one piece of silicon).
Dell and Nvidia, which have collaborated many times in the past, are expected to show off the new PC at id Software's QuakeCon 2005 computer game event next Monday.
