Just a week after alpha testing began for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, Atari have delayed the release of the game until next year. The game was due for release at the end of this year, but has now slipped into early 2006. No specific reason for the delay is given in a report, though Eurogamer mention the fact that the delay comes in the same week as Atari announced a sharp loss - $32.8 million - in the quarter that ended on the 30th of June.
Development on Dungeons & Dragons Online has been ongoing for over two years at Turbine Entertainment, and despite the delay, fans can still apply to play the game early as part of the alpha test.
To take part in the test, sign up here, and register on the community forums for the game, as Turbine have said they give preference to members when deciding the testers.
