Next-gen.biz is reporting that the new GameBoy Micro will see a Japanese release on the 13th of September, the 20th anniversary of the release of Super Mario Bros. on the Famicom. Unfortunately, the report hasn't been confirmed by Nintendo yet so it should be treated as rumour. Nintendo unveiled GameBoy Micro with a surprise announcement at the E3 back in May. The tiny console will feature the brightest handheld screen ever produced by the company, and will be marketed towards the "image conscious" gamer when it's released.
While we wait on an official release date, the full specs of the Micro can be viewed on Wikipedia, and images can be viewed on the official Japanese site.
