Nintendo have announced their super-slimline GameBoy Micro handheld is to launch in the U.S. on the 19th of September, though no pricing has yet been announced.Reports from earlier this month that the Micro would launch on the 20th anniversary of the release of Super Mario Bros. on the Famicom were only out by six days.
Nintendo surprise-announced the new console at the E3 in May, revealing it would weigh less than an iPod mini and boast the best screen the company have ever used in a handheld. At the event, Nintendo also stressed that it won't be a successor of the Nintendo DS or GameBoy Advance but rather a new branch of the GameBoy brand aimed at the "image conscious gamer".
