The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessSome potentially upsetting news coming in for Zelda fans. It appears that Nintendo are set to delay the development of Twilight Princess. In a press release that will likely leave a sad mark on some fans, Nintendo has revealed that they wish to put a lot more work into the game before they unleash it upon the public.

From the press release:

Our development team has decided to take extra time to add some incredible new elements to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. As a result, the game will now launch in 2006 globally. We recognize there may be some disappointed fans, however we firmly believe this additional time will result in a much more enjoyable gaming experience.

Pro-G.co.uk has the low-down

Although the press release does not shed any light as to when in 2006 the game will surface, it does mention a few interesting titles coming to the GameCube later this year.

The press release went on to list a number of titles that GameCube owners can look forward to this year including Mario Smash Football, Battalion Wars, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, but a list the size of an elephant on a 'Super Size Me' diet won't mask the disappointment of videogame fans across the world as they struggle to find a way to carry on this winter.
