Gamespot reports that Namco have begun a Japan-only closed beta test of Tales of Eternia Online, the company's first-ever foray into the massively-multiplayer-online genre. The game is derived from Tales of Eternia, an RPG released for the original Playstation in the year 2000; the PS game is better known in the U.S. as Tales of Destiny II.
It's unclear when the final version of Tales of Eternia will be released, or if it will see a release in the U.S. It was originally due for release in spring 2005, but Namco subsequently pushed the release back citing "quality improvement issues".
