Xbox 360According to an article on the LA Times website, Microsoft has officially announced the pricing schemes for its upcoming Xbox 360 console. The bare-bones package will cost you $299 which will get you the console, cables and 1 wired controller. The $399 flavour will offer your box a 20GB hard-drive, a wireless controller, headset, ethernet cable and also a wireless remote control.

So the premium Xbox 360 package weighs in at approximately the same price as Sony's PS3, which is expected to retail for around the same price next year.

Microsoft have officially broken the news that they will release the Xbox 360 console in 2 different package variations costing US$299 and US$399 each.

Microsoft staff have been quoted as saying that the Xbox 360 console will cost either $299 or $399 when it is launched this "holiday season."
