Nintendo have announced pink and blue versions of the Nintendo DS will go on sale in Europe on the 7th of October. The alternate versions are set to coincide with the release of Nintendogs, the tamagotchi-style game that's set to launch in the U.S. on the 21st of August.
The console has racked up over 1 million sales in Europe since its launch back in March, and Nintendo have a goal of shifting over 3 million by the end of the year.
Though no announcements have been made thus far, it's possible the company will reduce the price of the console in Europe in order to reach that figure; a $20 price-cut has already been announced for the U.S. market when Nintendogs goes on sale there this Sunday.
