Eurogamer reports that Sony may use the German Games Convention, which begins tomorrow, to announce an expected price-cut for the Playstation 2, while it appears likely that we won't hear any major news on the Xbox 360 front.None of the top execs for Xbox, J Allard, Peter Moore or Robbie Bach, will attend, so announcements on an Xbox 360 release date or price appear unlikely.
Sony on the other hand might use the conference to announce a Christmas price-cut for the Playstation 2, a rumour which began last month. Senior Sony sources now describe the price-cut as "common knowledge", though whether the price will get slashed down to about $100 is unclear at this point.
