A PSP hacker has managed to get both Windows 95 and Linux running on the handheld, though only with version 1.0 of the firmware. The hack makes use of an open-source x86 PC emulator and apparently Windows runs well, but takes a long time to start up. Once running, he was able to navigate the hard drive through My Computer and play Minesweeper and Solitaire.
DLX Linux also loaded perfectly, but due to a lack of keyboard support not a lot can be done with it.
