Xbox 360: €349? - 9.8.05

Xbox 360Gamefront.de has yet another report on the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe. Austrian dealers have said that Microsoft have given them a "non-committal" price of €349 for the console, though the report implies the trade price may be flexible enough to allow retailers to sell as low as €299.

The new report is in line with the price currently expected for the U.K., £249 sterling, which converts to about €360.

Microsoft's J Allard originally said back in May that the Xbox 360 would cost in "the neighborhood" of $300 (about €242, £168) when it launches, but recent speculation has it that Microsoft have been swayed by comments from Sony boss Ken Kutaragi that the PS3 would be "expensive"; rumour has it that Microsoft may raise the Xbox 360 price in response.
