Day of Defeat: Source

Valve have finally released the Source conversion of the popular World War II shooter Day of Defeat.

Fans have had to suffer many delays as Valve built DoD: Source from the ground-up in the HL2 Source engine; the game was originally listed for an early spring 2005 release, but both spring and summer passed with little word from Valve except that the game would be released "soon".

Now it's available, you'll need to have either the Half-Life 2 Gold or Silver bundles or the Counter-Strike: Source retail box, or alternatively the standalone game can be purchased through Steam for $19.95.

Aside from the superior graphics and physics capability offered by the Source engine, new features in DoD: Source include a new stun-effect for grenades, the ability to deploy the machine gun on any surface and support for Valve's new HDR lighting technology.
