Microsoft have said they expect "to win" the next-gen console battle in Japan, but the results of a new consumer poll kind of puts the marketing hype into perspective. The Nikkei poll has just 6% of those polled expressing an interest in buying an Xbox 360, compared to a whopping 72% for the Playstation 3.Microsoft can glean some hope from the result though; back in July another poll had interest in the 360 at a paltry 2%.
Nintendo also saw some impressive gains from the earlier poll despite, or perhaps because of, the mystery still hovering over the Revolution; the console garnered 22% interest in the new poll, up from 8%.
