
Cellular phone users itching to play a little football shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to get a little Madden on the go.
According to Virgin.net Electronic Arts has made an agreement to buy Jamdat Mobile, a company that provides mobile games.
The companies will public more than 50 games for cellular phones within a year of the merger.
Titles for cell phones are expected to included Tetris, JAMDAT Bowling, Madden NFL, Need for Speed and more.
This is an important strategic acquisition for Electronic Arts," said EA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Larry Probst.
"Together we intend to build a leading global position in the rapidly growing business of providing games on mobile phones. We look forward to the Jamdat team joining EA."
