Considering the problems that have plagued it since its November North American release, it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Xbox 360’s Australian/New Zealand debut has been delayed.
The Microsoft console was initially set to make its appearance in the Down Under market on March 2, but now Games Industry is reporting that’s been pushed back to March 23.
It was recently announced that shortages of the console would likely continue in North America through the Spring as manufacturing issues continue to hamper Microsoft’s ability to keep store shelves stocked.
In a statement, Microsoft said the slip was due to "unprecedented global consumer demand and short-term manufacturing issues due to component shortages stemming from challenges in ramping supply."
According to Microsoft, the shift to a new launch date will ensure that " the markets will have an adequate supply of Xbox 360 consoles to meet demand at launch."
