Anyone who doesn’t think a video game can scare you out of your skin, hasn’t played a Resident Evil title.

Combining just the right balance of graphics, music, storyline and jump scenes to perfectly meld horror and gaming, the Resident Evil titles have captivated fans for years. Now, as the Next-Gen era comes into play, CVG is speculating that Resident Evil might be brought back for the Nintendo Revolution.

According to the site, Minoru Nakai is currently involved in a project for the console at Capcom. Work on the title can help increase his team’s ability to create games for the new system and might pave the way for a new entry in the creepy series.

Even if the playability of Resident Evil 4 thus remains very led to my taste", Nakai explained (via Google translator, just in case you're wondering), "we would clearly like to use the potential of the [Revolution controller], because the players could end up wearying themselves of this style of game play.”
However, the producer cautioned that "it would be perhaps more judicious to develop a game other than Resident Evil on Nintendo Revolution, before attacking this series, and this, to familiarize myself more with this new concept, in order to better benefit from the potential of the [controller] thereafter. We [are working] there in this moment..."

Despites Nakai’s comments, it seems Capcom has no current plans to bring a Resident Evil 5 title to the Revolution although the company announced its intent to bring such a game to the Xbox 360 and the PS3 at some point. No dates have been announced for either system though.

Looks like only time will tell if Resident Evil gets a full resurrection for the new generation of gaming.
