Take Two Interactive, the owners of the Rockstar Games' label, have announced their acquisition of Irrational Games.As part of the announcement Take-Two revealed Irrational have multiple games in the works at their U.S. and Australian studios, including BioShock, the role-playing FPS for PC and next-generation consoles that has been in development for over 4 years.
Irrational's Ken Levine also revealed the developer is working on more than one next-generation title:
"We are excited to be aligned with a publishing label like 2K Games that shares similar development goals and vision," said Ken Levine, co-founder and President of Irrational Games. "Fans will be blown away when they see the next-generation titles we are working on."
Irrational Games was created by former employees of Looking Glass Studios in the late 1990's, and its previous games include System Shock 2, Freedom Force, Tribes: Vengeance and 2005's SWAT 4.BioShock is said to be the "spiritual successor" to System Shock 2, and is set to be released in 2007.
