With the competition just around the corner, 2K Sports has released Torino 2006, the official video game of the XX Olympic Winter Games. The title is now available in North America and will hit European stores on Jan. 27.

According to a media release issued by 2K, the game allows up to four players to compete head-to-head in a number of winter sports events, including bobsled, skiing and luge. It’s based on the upcoming games, which take place in Torino, Italy, in February.

2K is a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software. The game is a partnership between 2K and International Sports Multimedia, the exclusive licensee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for interactive entertainment software.

Torino features 15 different events in eight sports and three different levels of difficulty. It’s designed for single or multiplayer use for the PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
