According to The Inquirer, Chinese players of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft are facing a less-than-friendly play environment.
As if the plague of problems reported about the game in recent weeks were not enough, now it’s said that Chinese players are being excluded from groups following rumors they’re playing for nothing more than the cash.
The Inquirer’s report says that players are asking others to type in English prior to a group invite. If they have spelling or grammar mistakes, the player is rejected. (Which makes wonder how many native speakers are being excluded as well, but that’s another story.)
The change in atmosphere follows Blizzard’s permanent banning of more than 1,000 players for gold farming. Although Blizzard has not identified what country the banned accounts originated from, players seem to be taking things into their own hands.
This, of course, comes on the heels of reports of major server issues, backups on getting into the game and server crashes.
