Just when I thought I’d heard it all, reports hit the news wire this weekend about an eBayer auctioning off an Xbox 360, complete with an image of Christ on the package. The Shroud of Turin, I think not, but some sites are reporting the price was driven up to well over $3,000.
Although that auction was officially over by Sunday evening, the report about the sale on Opposable Thumbs is a pretty funny read.
This XBOX 360 package has an Image of a man in the resemblance of Jesus on the back of the packaging. I did not alter the package in any way. This is a natural occurance of something beyond my understanding. The appearance of this image is comprised of a manipulation of the plastic, enclosing the package... I tried to rub it off, but I cannot. I am not auctioning the Image, but if you do happen to buy this XBOX 360, the image will inevitably be included, for it is part of the packaging. I can guarantee in writing, that I did not attempt to fabricate this occurance in any way. The image is open for interpretation. You decide.

And, as if that weren’t enough, a copy cat seller has hit the online market place with another Jesus 360. This one has a picture of Christ affixed to the box. Bids were up to a whole U.S. dollar as of early Monday morning U.S. Eastern Time. Guess this proves people will buy anything or at least try to sell it.
The auction description in part reads “God has blessed this Xbox 360 box. There is a picture of Jesus Christ on the front of this box. … As the winning bidder, you get to decide whether you want the box or everything including the xbox 360, games, and accessories … plus a tootsie pop.”
