As game developers feel the pinch of sluggish sales, some facing layoffs, one used video game reseller wants to give back to those who make the industry possible.
Ontario-based iTradeVideoGames.com has pledged to give back 10 cents of every dollar it earns to the game producing community, which means developers and publishers.
Site officials reason that the used game market has become huge and has prospered by selling the same games over and over again while developers and publishers fail to see the same repeat returns.
Lee Babin, webmaster for iTradeVideoGames.com had this to say on the announcement. “The hard working developers and publishers are the reason that we get to play such amazing games. They work insane hours and they do not get the recognition they deserve. It seems silly that large scale retailers should be getting rich off of the hard work of the people who actually create the games. I think it is time to give something back to the community. While we are not a large scale retailer, raking in millions of dollars, we will give to the community all that we can.”

With Atari, EA and other major names in the industry posting losses and announcing cutbacks, iTradeVideoGames.com is encouraging other game resellers to follow in its footsteps and support the industry that makes the titles in the first place.
