Turbine has announced plans to bring its newly open MMORPG, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, to players in Japan.
The company has struck a deal with Sakura Internet to bring a localized version of the game to Japan. In addition, Sakura will be responsible for marketing, distribution and operation of the game in this region.
D&D Online launched last week in North America and promises players a graphically pumped up version of the old paper and pencil game. More information on the title itself can be found by clicking here.
SAKURA has a rich online history and tradition in Japan and we are tremendously excited to be in partnership with them," said Jeffrey Anderson, president and CEO of Turbine, Inc. "We see the Japanese market as an exciting opportunity for the title."
"Our vision is to lead the growth of online games in Japan," said Ryo Sasada, President and CEO of SAKURA Internet Inc. "We believe that DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE (TM) is the perfect franchise for us to deliver to our audience as part of this strategy."
