
Gamers won’t be the only ones wanting to check out Atari’s new title, Driver: Parallel Lines, when it launches March 14. Music lovers, too, will get their money’s worth in this game.
The new game has a soundtrack that boasts more than 90 songs. Those who buy the special edition version will also get a bonus CD with another 12 exclusive tracks.
Driver: Parallel Lines, which will be released on March 14 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, features in-game music from the likes of David Bowie, Blondie, Iggy Pop, Paul Oakenfold, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mylo, TV On The Radio, Secret Machines, LCD Soundsystem, Kaiser Chiefs and Audio Bullys.
The special edition version includes 12 exclusive tunes from Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Arthur Baker, Vox, Nimrod Express, The Fabulous Bongo Brothers, The Sliders, Prince Of Brooklyn, Tribal Funk Stars and others.
Atari is in talks with download services to offer three soundtrack album offshoots from the game. The first will be the one included in the special edition, the second will feature five '70s tunes and six new cuts, and the third will have 14 more '70s songs.
Parallel Lines is the latest game in Atari's Driver series, which the company reports has sold more than 10 million copies. In this edition, players can race in "Hollywood-style" car chases throughout New York City. There are 35 different missions set in 1978 and 2006.
