Gamers in some parts of the world will lament the news Nintendo doesn’t seem to be taking a page from the other two big game makers in setting a timeframe for a worldwide launch.
Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata pretty much seems to have ruled out a worldwide launch during an interview with Bloomberg. He claimed that just because Sony and Microsoft have gone that route doesn’t mean Nintendo needs to follow suit.
The news has some European gamers a little bit miffed. The console is due out in North America sometime later this year. Dates are not finalized for any region as of yet though.
Caught up in the hysteria of having the Xbox 360 a short time after its North America launch, and with the surprising revelation that the Playstation3 would actually make it to Europe before 2007, we'd almost believed the notion that European gamers are no longer treated like second class gamers in the global gaming structure.
Thankfully you can always count on Nintendo to put us back into our place, let's just hope we get the Revolution in time for Christmas - please Mr Iwata we want to join in the fun too.
