Sega fans who want to see their favorite gaming company create its own console have a place to turn to make their voice heard. The Dreamcast’s now considered old school, but for those who love it, there’s no comparison.
Thanks to one massive Sega fan, there’s a petition out there that will eventually be sent to Sega to show player support for the idea of a new console.
The petition was brought to my attention through our posting forum, and the creator took some time to answer questions about his intent. Going by the Internet moniker of Cams Segaga, the man behind the site explained he doesn’t particularly want to see Sega create a next-gen console, but instead wants to pique the company’s interest for the generation that will most certainly follow.
Why I'm basically doing this is because I, like many others out there, am a huge Sega fan, I'm constantly hearing and reading a lot of peoples opinions on how much they want Sega back in the console business, but no one seems to be doing anything about it. So I thought I should do something myself. So I started this petition to hopefully get Sega’s attention to let them know how many of their fans really want them back.
I only have 43 signatures at this time, but I only started it about two weeks ago. I have plans to get the word out more with a new website I'm trying to put together which I hope to have it up in the next two-three weeks, and just keep on sending messages on gaming blogs.
He went on to explain his reasoning for the petition, which sounds pretty darn solid to me.
Also I would like to add, a lot of people seem to think I'm talking about getting Sega back in the console business in the next couple of years to compete against PS3-XBOX360-Revolution. That’s not the case. I'm talking about the next generation after, I'm not in a dream world thinking they are going to be releasing a console anytime soon.
The whole idea of this petition is to let Sega know if they are considering re-entering the market in the future that their fans are still there, and it's weird in a kind of way because since Sega dropped out of the console business they seem to be more popular than ever.”

Cams would like to obtain at least 5,000 signatures and needs other Sega fans to step up to the plate and help out. For those who have never played a Sega console, it’s a dream. Great graphics, fun games and very easy to use. The Dreamcast is a mainstay in my house right alongside the Xbox 360 and computers.
