World of Warcraft has managed to break the 6 million mark in users worldwide, gaining subscribers at an incredible pace. And if that weren’t enough, Blizzard Entertainment has announced it will soon localize and release the wildly popular MMORGP in Spanish.
The Spanish launch will fall in the hands of the Blizzard Europe team to handle.
The 6 million-subscriber figure comes just eight weeks after the company announced it had hit the 5 million mark. This is in spite some problems that have plagued the game in recent weeks, including long wait times and reports of discrimination. Considering this, the numbers are just amazing.
We look forward to offering Spanish-speaking players in Europe a version of World of Warcraft tailored specifically for them," said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment(r). "The enthusiasm for the game here has been overwhelming, and we're pleased that this new localised version will make World of Warcraft accessible to an even wider audience."

In the meantime, other MMORGPs are gunning to knock WoW off its pedestal. Both EverQuest and EverQuest II launched expansions in late February and Dungeons & Dragons Online went live this week.
