No doubt SEGA’s sandbagging its best titles for the very end of its Road To E3 promotion. Announcing a game a day up until May’s big E3 gaming conference, SEGA this morning unveiled World Pool Championship 2007 and World Pool Challenge 2007.
The titles are being developed by British studio Blade Interactive. Championship is for the PlayStation 2 and Challenge is meant for the PSP.
Pool is a classic game that a wide variety of audiences can identify with," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "With a host of exciting new modes and features, both World Pool Championship 2007 and World Pool Challenge 2007 will provide new avenues for virtual hustlers to rack 'em up."
SEGA Media Release
Both titles will have players creating their own pool champs or assuming the role of one of the world’s best players in tournaments vying for such trophies as the Mosconi Cup, World Cup and U.S. Open.
There’s no word on when these will hit the market.
Although virtual pool has its following, and frankly can be quite addictive, many gamers are anxiously awaiting the big next-gen titles that might be included in the countdown to May's big event. Only 13 days to go!
