James Bond
Activision has cornered the market on 007 video games. The company has obtained the rights to publish James Bond video games, taking over where Electronic Arts left off.

The deal gives Activision the worldwide rights to make games for all platforms, including consoles, handheld devices and the PC.

The first Activision titles likely won’t roll out until sometime next year though. The exclusive rights start in September 2007 and go forward seven years. Until then,
Activision only has “non-exclusive” rights to publish 007 game titles.

The James Bond franchise creates tremendous global expansion opportunities for Activision as it is one of the few video game licenses that appeals equally to domestic and international consumers," Mike Griffith, head of Activision's publishing arm, said in a statement.
