SNK Playmore has announced the creation of the Metal Slug Anthology for Wii.
The arcade series title will be a new version of the game that was first introduced in 1996. Developers are promising some big additions with this title, however.
Although there’s no word on actual release date, the news will be welcomed by those with a penchant for arcade play.
Fans worldwide have been looking forward to our return to Nintendo
platforms and what better way then to bring our complete METAL SLUG arcade collection to Wii(tm)," said Ben Herman, President of SNK PLAYMORE USA CORPORATION. "The Wii controller will be used in a new and unique way that enhances the gameplay. Our fans have demanded that we support Nintendo platforms. Let the celebration begin."

The company has also announced it will create a SNK VS CAPCOM CARD FIGHTERS DS game for that system, as well.
