The wildly popular World of Warcraft will soon make its way to the big screen. Warner’s Legendary Pictures has snagged the rights to turn this icon in online game play into the next big movie based on a game.
Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft has taken the gaming world by storm and now boasts more than 6 million players worldwide, so it’s not likely Legendary Pictures will have to worry about a fan base when this film hits the theaters. Considering its popularity, the title might even have a better showing on opening weekend than Mission Impossible 3.
There’s no word on when the project will be developed, who will write it or who will be cast to take this game from the little screen to the big one.
