It sounded too good to be true, but the prospect of Steven Spielberg directing the World of Warcraft movie was just too incredible not to ponder on. After all, Peter Jackson’s involved with the Halo flick.
At any rate, as I suspected based on an absence of mention on IMDb, it seems Spielberg is not involved in the WoW movie.

Steven Spielberg's offices have told us in no uncertain terms that Mr. Spielberg will not be directing "World of Warcraft." The project is in development, but not with Mr. Spielberg attached.
Too bad for Blizzard. Spielberg would have made one heck of a movie.
