Wii has a ballpark price and release date, but nothing’s carved in stone at this time. That will change, according to Nintendo officials via Punch Jump, sometime in September when the company intends to officially announce its price and ship dates.
As it stands now, Nintendo has given some pretty strong clues, but nothing has been written in blood. The estimated price for the console falls in at under $250. The ship date has been narrowed down to sometime in November, with some venturing a strong guess at Nov. 6.
The console with the funny name made a huge splash at May’s E3 and even won some of the show’s top accolades. Although not as graphics heavy as the Xbox 360 or Sony’s PS3, Wii has caught the attention of gamers, and is designed to appeal to “everyone,” Nintendo officials say. Complete with its motion-sensing controller, Wii does have some nifty features, including its ability to download DS demos as gamers catch a few winks.
