Xbox 360 owners with Live access can take advantage of a massive update for the console by logging on. The patch includes more than 125 features designed to enhance the 360’s power and overall performance.
The update is free for those with Xbox Live Silver and Gold accounts and doesn’t require a disc or hard drive to obtain. It seems the download will take less than a minute and includes:
- New download manager that allows players to queue up six high def items at a time. This will enable game play during downloads, too
- Updated Xbox Live Marketplace menus will help gamers find and store their content.
- Remote control for Xbox Live Marketplace videos. This will enable fast forward and rewind during video downloads
- Custom music can now play without pause during game loads
- The music playback screen will now include the artist, song title, time remaining and more
- Bookmarking for DVD will allow gamers to pause a movie at any point, put in game and then return to the movie right where they left off
- Gold membership information will be provided when gamers are trying to join a session or accepting invites with Silver accounts
- Improved handling of backward compatible updates
- Improved support for Xbox 360 game disc recognition
This is just a partial listing of all the features in the big update. The patch is now live. For full details, click here.
