The Xbox 360 is a great gaming console that can do a whole lot of other things besides game. From auto-blogger to home entertainment system, the 360 does it all and does it pretty well (if it’s working).
Well now the options for the console have gotten even better. Thanks to TVersity, the Xbox 360 can now capture podcasts and have them appear as a playlist on the machine. The mod allows for all kinds of other options, too.
The TVersity Media Server allows users to manage Internet and home media to create their own lineup of channels. It can then serve up the media to networked devices, “overcoming their inherent limitations by doing all the necessary conversions on the fly, and thus making your media available anywhere, anytime and from any device.”
It can even handle Flickr photos.
Sounds like a very cool idea to further make the 360 a well-rounded entertainment device, in addition to a kick butt gaming console. I’m still waiting for the darn thing to wash windows, but surround sound, podcasts and blogging will have to do for now.
