Earlier reports that Resident Evil would not be rambling onto Wii have been confirmed as inaccurate.
The folks at The Wiire contacted Capcom Europe directly and were told by Ben Le Rougetel, head of communications, the earlier story stemmed from a misunderstanding. That story had Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi saying he didn’t know if Resident Evil would shamble onto the console or not.
Rougetel told The Wiire it would and that Takeuchi thought he was being asked if a version of RE5 would be made for Wii.
“"Takeuchi-san's answer does not contradict the announcement made at this year’s E3 which confirmed that a RE title for Wii was in development."
Let me just say whew to this news! The RE title and the expected pricing for the console itself are the two things that are making me want a Wii so badly.
Sure, I’ll say I’m buying it for my daughter, but really it’s just for checking out RE and maybe even a Star Wars game with the nifty controller. I’m dying to see if the controller will respond to the fearful flailing that goes on in my house while RE’s being played.
OK, so I’m a geek.
