Saints Row
Gamers who want to check out Saints Row before plunking down about $60 to do so are in luck. THQ has released a free download demo on Xbox Live for the upcoming Xbox 360 game.

The M-rated title will hit stores Aug. 29. It has a ton of features that combine to make this title look like a good one for those who like fast-paced games with lots of options. They include:

  • Custom options: Players can create their own look by customizing everything from their clothes to their cars.
  • Open-world city: The game will allow players to go anywhere and do any of the activities they like in different parts of the game world at any time.
  • Music, music and more music: The game offers 12 radio stations that play more than 130 titles that range from hip-hop to rock. There are even game play clues on the stations, so it pays to play.
  • Online mayhem: Gamers can challenge others online in games such as “Big Ass Chains” and “Protect tha Pimp.” They can also form gangs, recruit gang members and compete for cash and respect.
The single player demo that’s out is an introduction to the title's single-player campaign. The gang itself has players starting out as members of the 3rd Street Saints. This game is under constant threat from corrupt city officials and rival gangs. Gamers must take over the city of Stilwater one district at a time.

The online version will handle up to 12 players on Xbox Live.

Not normally my kind of game, but this one looks pretty cool.
